Nigeria Military Raid Boko Haram Camps, Kills 17 Militants

 According to Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, spokesperson for the joint police and military forces in Borno State Friday February 1, 2013, in a raid by security forces and backed by Navy helicopter gunships, 17 militants were killed at camps located in the forest and game reserve.

 "The camp was used to conduct training and carry out recent attacks, killings and bombings," Musa said. 

On Monday, January 28, 2013, the sect's leader Sheik Abu Mohammed Abdulazeez urged members to stop attacks, declaring unilateral ceasefire the federal government of Nigeria did not hesitate to welcome. Meanwhile, no words yet from Boko Haram on the raid.
