Rwanda: Water Supply At Mbyo Village
Residents of Mbyo looking at water pipes which are being put in place, which will change their lives, as they will no longer have to walk far away to fetch water. This exercise would not be happening if it were not with the help of the Millennium Villages, which was founded by Prof Jeffrey Sachs. Sachs is an American economist and Director of The Earth Institute at Columbia University. One of the youngest economics professors in the history of Harvard University, Sachs became known for his role as an adviser to Eastern European and developing countries' governments during the transition from communism to a market system or during periods of economic crisis. Subsequently he has been known for his work on the challenges of economic development, environmental sustainability, poverty alleviation, debt cancellation, and globalization. Image: Guillaume Bonn
