Nigeria and the U. S. on Monday in Abuja promised to strengthen ties in defence. The Minister of State for Defence, Mrs Olusola Obada made this known, after holding a closed door meeting with the U.S Ambassador to Nigeria Terence McCulley at the Ministry of Defence, Abuja.
Obada said the meeting was to further deepen the cooperation between both countries.
She said, "We discussed issues in terms of military cooperation, training and so many others. We intend to keep our relationship with the United States of America, in order to ensure that we keep enjoying each others confidence.''
Obada also said that the meeting discussed other recent happenings, but declined to give further details. She said Nigeria and the U.S were interfacing on so many issues, which would be of benefit to both countries.
