Top Bidders For Nigeria's Ailing Power Supply Named
Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation and surrounded by oil wealth, having forced its citizens to rely heavily on personal generators for its electric supply announced Tuesday, September 25, 2012, by the nation's Bureau of Public Enterprises top bidders for five power plants to replace the aging and dysfunctional plants, in its new move towards free enterprise, which would provide stable power supply to millions of its population. Private companies in the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Oman, South Africa and Israel were top bidders, among others.
