Boko Haram Sect Leader Shot Dead; 156 Arrested
Over the weekend and placing the town of Mubi, Adamawa State under a 24 hour surveillance and curfew, Nigeria's military announced Tuesday, September 25, 2012, that a total of 156 suspects were rounded up in raids of suspected [Boko Haram] hideouts." The statement also said that Abubakar Yola also known as Abu Jihad, was shot dead in a shootout with the military forces. Abubakar Yola was the sects area commander considered to be the base of the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram.
