Eko Atlantic Marina: Lagos' New City
A Rendering of Eko Atlantic Marina - Nigerian-Lebanese developer Gilbert Chagoury is developing Eko Atlantic, a city of 250,000 wealthy Nigerians on a landfill outside Lagos walled off for the very rich on a continent that is still very poor. The new city is going to be the equivalent of Champs Élysées in Paris or Fifth Avenue in New York. French banks that are enticed by Africa's rapid growth provide much of the funding for development. Chagoury, founder of Nigeria's Chagoury Group, is aiming to cap his career with the most colossal real-estate project in West Africa. Credits: Wall Street Journal. Image: Eko Atlantic
