Why EFCC Invited Soludo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday invited former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Professor Chukwuma Soludo. The former CBN boss left EFCC office a few hours ago (Thursday, January 10, 2012) after honoring the invitation from the Commission.
A letter of invitation written by the EFCC to Soludo which Daily Times is in possession of, says Soludo was needed to make some clarifications on a matter under investigation. The letter invitation was dated 20th December 2012.
The letter says “This commission is investigating a case in which the need to obtain certain clarifications from you has become imperative.”
The two- paragraph letter then gave the former CBN boss its operational address and time for the visit.
Although Daily Times was not able to speak with Soludo, EFCC sources said the renowned economist left the commission’s office for his home immediately his interview with the commission’s officials ended.
