Goodluck Jonathan Reshuffles His Service Chiefs

President Goodluck Jonathan in what had been speculated about reshuffling his service chiefs earlier this week, on Thursday, October 4, 2012, by-passed the Chief of Army Staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika who in all expectations was to get t he powerful military post, appointed Naval Chief Vice Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim as the new Chief of Defense Staff replacing Air Chief Marshall Oluseyin Petinrin who is retiring. Ihejirika retained his post while Rear Admiral D.J. Ezeoba took over from Ola Ibrahim. Air Vice Admiral A.S. Badeh from the troubled state of Adamawa is the nation's new Chief of Air Staff replacing Air Marshall Diko Umar who is also retiring.
