On January 10, 1997, Linus "Wayne" Ekene fatally shot Okon Nelson Offem over an inexplicable business dispute at his North Hollywood apartment. Being on the lam for nearly a decade, Ekene was arrested in Utah in 2006 on a misdeamenor battery charge for beating up his boss with a baseball bat. His fingerprints matched the ones recovered from the North Hollywood murder scene and was immediately repartrated to California to face a more serious charge.
On Monday, July 09, 2007, "Wayne" was found guilty of all charges and would spend the rest of his life in prison when sentenced next month at Van Nuys Municipal Court.
