Security: Delta Govt. donates 30 patrol vehicles to police




Delta Government on Monday donated 30 patrol vehicles to the state Police Command as part of measures to enhance the security of lives and property in the state.
The state Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, who made the donation in Asaba, also assured investors and visitors of their safety in the state. Uduaghan also inaugurated the vehicles as his first official function in the new Government House, Asaba.
The governor said that the vehicles would be deployed to check crimes on the highways across the state and commended the efforts of the police and other security agencies, saying that the state was witnessing significant improvement in the security situation.
Uduaghan said that several arrests were now being made in relation to many cases of kidnappings. “I want to commend the Police, the Army and other security agencies, the transition local government chairmen and the active vigilante for their contributions in the fight against crime and criminals.
“We shall continue to ensure that the state is free from criminals and I want to assure that the state is safe for investors and all those visiting the state.”
Receiving the keys of the vehicles, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, commended the government and people of the state for the gesture. He said the vehicles would be put into the best use.
