A New Jersey woman is being investigated after sending police to Newark Airport Saturday to chase down her husband, who she claimed was planning to blow up a plane.

As it turns out, The New York Post reports, the woman, Eunice Ukaegbu, just didn’t want her husband, Okieze, to travel to Paris without her. The couple had been fighting, and when he left to go to the airport, she called the police on him.

Eunice Ukaegbu reportedly informed authorities, “he told me he was going to blow up the airplane. I went through his suitcase — and I panicked.”

She added that she wanted to do her civic duty. She claimed she was worried because her husband was acting distant.

Police came to her home to investigate along with federal agents. The couple’s daughter, overhearing the commotion, called her father’s cell phone to warn him that police were coming to arrest him before he could board the plane.

Okieze, who stayed at the gate to wait for police, said he was traveling to Nigeria through Paris.

He reportedly told police his wife has an alcohol problem and was lying.

Meanwhile, he’d already passed through security. Police pulled his luggage from the plane and searched it.

Okieze missed his flight, which was not significantly delayed.

Police say they plan to arrest the woman.
