Commissioner Accuses Kalu of Operating Foreign Accounts
ABUJA — A FORMER Commissioner in Abia State, Mr. Moses Agoh, has put more heat on former Governor Orji Kalu, accusing him of running the state treasury like a “family account.” Agoh who served as Commissioner for Finance under Kalu in a confessional statement to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleged that Kalu had substantial interest in banks in The Gambia, Liberia and Sierra-Leone, and that EFCC’s allegations against Kalu were correct. A FEDERAL High Court judge, Justice Binta Murtala-Nyako would decide tomorrow whether or not to admit immediate past governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu to bail. Kalu is accused by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of allegedly laundering N2.7 billion belonging to the state for which a 107 count charge is levied by the anti-corruption agency.
